Fault detection by CSAMT and its application to new district planning in Beijing

In order to provide basic geological information for a new planning district in Beijing,it is necessary to identify the precise location of the faults,the thickness of the overburden,and estimate the activity of the faults.We used CSAMT method for survey work.As there was strong electromagnetic interference in the survey area,we took many means to ensure the data obtained credible.By employing genetic algorithms full data inversion program for data inverse,we achieved a good result.With comprehensive analysis of the geophysics and geological data,we have determined the precise locations of faults,and provided reliable information for the new district planning.
