Seismic time-frequency analysis for frequency decomposition with applications to seismic sedimentology and reservoir imaging

Based on the practice and knowledge of non-stationary signal processing, the seismic time-frequency analysis, interpretation with frequency decomposition and spectrum decomposition with the applications to seismic sedimentology and reservoir imaging research are surveyed. After introduction on the fundamentals of the seismic non- stationary analysis algorithms, the applied schemes to the seismic sedimentology and reservoir imaging are summarized. Then it is pointed out that there are some worthy subjects which should be focused on, including the time-frequency analysis method improvement, seismic processing and interpretation integration and the test under various geological conditions, so the time-frequency schemes and effects could be promoted greatly.
