Apply L-BFGS algorithm to seismic inverse spectral decomposition

How to find an optimal solution is one of the most important aspects of the inverse spectral decomposition,firstly,we suggest that an appropriate objective function should be chosen to construct the mathematics model.In this paper,L1 regularized L2-norm is employed as the objective function.As the choice of optimization algorithm related to the accuracy,computing costs of the inverse spectrum decomposition,firstly,we analyzed the impact of the regularization parameter λ to the inversion result.Secondly,a suitable optimization algorithm should be selected,on which the precision and the computational cost depends.Therefore,we introduce L-BFGS algorithm to the inverse spectral decomposition as the optimization algorithm.In order to testify the validity of L-BFGS optimization algorithm,a series of theoretical analysis and numerical modeling have been conducted as well as the marine seismic data test.The results show that L-BFGS based inverse spectral decomposition is very sensitive to response of hydrocarbon and the result obtained by this method is very stable.
