Algebraic solitary Rossby waves excited slowly changing topography and beta effect

In barotropic fluids,based on the quasi-geostrophic potential vorticity equation,an inhomogeneous BDO equation including slowly changing topography and beta effect is derived by employing the reductive perturbation expansion method and stretching transforms of time and space.With inspection of the evolution of the amplitude of Rossby waves,it is found that beta effect,topography effect,slowly changing topography are the important factor,the algebraic solitary Rossby waves is induced thought the basic stream function has a shear flow.Assuming that there be a balance between nonlinear and topographic effects,an inhomogeneous BDO equation is derived,the results show that the topography and Rossby waves interact in the barotropic flows.
