ON THE ASYMMETRICAL EFFECT OF SOLAR ACTIVITY UPON THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD
ZHANG GONG-LIANG(Institute of Geophysics and Meteorology, Academia Sinica)
During recent three solar cycles (1936—1960), the geomagnetic effect due to solar flares of importance 3 and large sunspots on the solar North hemisphere are stronger than those on south hemisphere. But during earlier cycles (1890—1935), this hemisphere asymmetry due to large sunspots shows some alternating tendency.
