SH-1 RECEIVING EQUIPMENT OF WHISTLERS AND SOME OBSERVATIONAL RESULTS

In 1978, we designed and made SH-1 pquipment for receiving whistlers and VLF emissions. In order to study the spectrum characteristics of whistler intensity, the frequency response of the equipment including antenna is paid special attention, and the frequency response of the loop antenna is rectified. This equipment has been used in Beijing (Geomag. Lat. 28.9#N) since the summer of 1979, and some new results were obtained. They are: 1. the maximum of relative intensity of whistlers is situated between 1 kc/s-4 kc/s rather than 4 ke/s-6 ke/s; 2. it is considerable that the low cutoff frequency of whistler is lower than that of the ground-ionosphere wave-guide.This instrument was used during the period of the solar eclipse at Mohe region (Geomag. Lat. 42.5#N) in the summer of 1981, and some observational results are presented.
