POLARIZATION PATTERNS OF FAST SHEAR WAVEIN TANGSHAN REGION AND THEIR VARIATIONS

By the method of calculation of cross Correlation function-elimination of timeDelay-examination of Polarization analysis (i.e. CDP analysis method) for shear wavesplitting, using near source records of strong ground motion in Tangshan region, thispaper gives preliminary static and dynamic discusses on polarization patterns of fastshear wave. In Tangshan region, different polarizations of fast shear wave are obtainedat some of stations which distances are very near each other According to scatteringpattern of polarization azimuths of fast shear-wave in Tangshan region, it suggests thatsimple overlapping of fast shear-wave polarizations observed in different stations is notof any meaning in a complicated tectonic zone. It is possible that there are quickvariations for polarization directions of fast shear-waves.
