Experiment observation of torsion wave splitting in anisotropic medium

Shear waves of two vibration modes can be produced in laboratories: the shear vibration and the torsion vibration.The propagation characteristics of torsion waves in anisotropic medium are tested using the torsion vibration transducers.Experiment tests indicate that two types of torsion wave with different velocity appear when the torsion wave without polarization characteristic propagates in anisotropic medium,and the velocities are consistent with those of the fast and slow shear wave which are produced when the shear vibration wave is tested.When these two types of torsion wave are received by torsion wave receivers,their amplitudes are not affected by the anisotropic azimuth.Through observation with two homogeneous anisotropic samples,we uncovered some propagation characteristics of the torsion wave in anisotropic medium.
