AN OVERVIEW ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ELECTRICAL PROSPECTING METHOD IN CHINA

The initial stage of the electrical prospecting method before the establishment of People's Republic of China is introduced at the beginning part. This paper mainly summarizes the great Progress of the electrical prospecting method since the establishment of People's Republic of China for 45 years, but it centers on the development of the electrical method for metal ore deposits exploration according to the following itiems: the general case of the new methods and techniques, the behaviour and rules of the electrical property of rock or ore rock, the causal mechanism of the IP phenomenon, the postive(opposite) problem,the correction of terrain effect, the IP and EM methods, the practical capability and results on the exploration of electrical methods.
