ON CONTINENTAL BASAL STRUCTURE IN CHINA

YUAN XUE-CHENG (Chinese Academy of Geoexploration, Bening 100812)  
The basement in China can be divided into four regions: The West China Craton, the East China Craton, the Mongolian-Tibetan massif, and the South China massif. In West China Craton and East Asia Craton, the basement are Archean Early Proterozoic metamorphite. In Mongolian-Tibetan accreting continental massif and South China accreting continental massif, the basement are proterozoic rocks.It can be detected three continental cores distributed regions in West China Craton.i. e. South Tarim Cores, Junggar cores, and Ili core, and four cores distributed regions in East Asia Craton, i. e. Yanshan-Luliangshan cores, Huanghe-Huaihe cores, Qinling cores, and Yangtze cores. At the same time as the Craton formedor some later, at the flank of cratons developed huge faults, on the east and west side of East Asia craton are the Tangcheng-Lujiang fault and Western boundary fault. on the south and north boundaries of West China Craton are Altun fault and Almantai fault. Xigaze-Langshan fault is another important huge fault between Mongolian-Tibatan masaif.
