Comprehansive Exploitation and Research of Brine Resources in the Lop Nur Salt Lake,Xinjiang

The Lop Nur Salt Lake in Xinjiang contains abundant brine of potassium-bearing magnesium sulfate subtype.It has been demonstrated that there are porosity geological reserves of 267 million tons of KCl equivalent in the Luobei(northern Lop Nur)subbasin alone.This slat lake belongs to a superlarge potash brine deposit,and the brine there is an ideal material for the production of potassium sulfate.In addition to potassium,the brine also contains valuable lithium,cesium and boron resources,which may be reserved as co-products or by-products from the brine.Therefore,the process of comprehensive exploitation of other brine resources should be accelerated,and the exploitation of the Lop Nur Salt Lake brine should be brought into the orbit of sustainable,rational,effective and high-value cyclic economic development so as to make contributions to the economic development of western China.
