SOME CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES OF STRUCTURE OF UPPER TROUGH BLOCKED BY SUBTROPICAL HIGH IN MID-SUMMER

In this paper we have studied two types of subtropical highs over the West, Pacific which can exert the blocking and unimpeding effects on the movement of the south segment of upper troughs in westerlines over East Asia respectively. The striking differences of the large-scale circulation structures between the above-mentioned two cases have been revealed. The blocking conditions of movement of the south segment of upper troughs in the westerlies over East Asia by the subtropical high over the West Pacific during midsummer are described.
