VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION OF STRATOSPHERIC AEROSOL BACKSCATTERING RATIO MEASURED BY LIDAR

Sun Jinhui Qiu Jinhuan Xia Qilin Zhang Jindin(Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Academia Sinica)  
The observations of stratospheric aerosols have been made by lidar in Beijing, since February 1983. The results show that there is a noticeable increase of backscattered light from the stratospheric aerosol layer during the period from February 1983 to April 1984 because of the volcanic eruptions of Mt. El Chichon. Some results are further discussed.
