Advances and Problems Needed for Further Investigation in the Studies of the East Asian Summer Monsoon

Advances of the recent studies on the features of construction. interannual andintraseasonal variations of the East Asian summer monsoon and their causes are reviewed. Moreover.results of the most new studies on simulation and predictability of the East Asian summer monsoon arealso reviewed;; particularly;; the differenee of the characteristis between the East Asian summer monsoonand the Indian summer monsoon;; and the effect of ENSO cycle;; the western Pacific warm pool and theTibetan Plateau on the interannual and intraseasonal variations of the East Asian summer monsoon aresystematically reviewed. Besides;; the problems needed for further studies on the variability of EastAsian summer monsoon and its simulation and prediction are put forward.
