Effect of the Basic Current on Evolutional Characteristics of Local Flow Patterns

Luo Zhexian; Xie Jinnan ;Ma Jingxian (Nanjing Institute of Meteorology, Naming 210044) (Meteorological Bureau of Ganshou Province, Lanzhou 730020)  
By using a quasigeostrophic barotropic model, five experiments whose integration timesare 72 model days were Performed in order to study effects of various basic currents on evolutionalcharacteristics of local flow patterns which are responsible for the regional drought. Results show thatthe intense basic current corresponds to the formation of the continuous drought flow patterns, and theweak corresponds to the intermittent ones.
