Manufacture of glucose oxidase electrode immobilized in poly o-phenylenediamine film

Objective To manufacture the amperometric glucose biosensor which can eliminate the interference of ascorbic acid (Ac). Methods Amperometric glucose biosensors were prepared by electropolymerization of glucose oxidase and poly o-phenylenediamine on platinum electrode. Results The sensor showed a fine response, linear range, stability, and diminished sensitivity to Ac interference in the determination of glucose. The glucose biosensors were characterized with sensitivity of 0.39 mA·mmol -1·L -1, response time of 5 s, linear range of 3.5 to 7.5 mmol/L of glucose, and stability of 25 d. And the result of glucose detection would not be significantly effected when the concentration of Ac was less than 80 μmol/L (P0.05). Conclusion The sensors can eliminate the interference of Ac effectively and lay a basis for the development of practical blood sugar detector.
