Research and Simulation on Collaborative Positioning in Wireless Sensor Networks

The maximum likelihood estimation( MLE) and conjugate gradient algorithm( CG) are used to simulate the node collaborative positioning system,and the effectiveness based on the receiving signal strength RSS and arrival time TOA ranging method are verified. Also,the effects on localization precision and CRB which are made by the number of blind nodes are studied. Results show that their estimated variances satisfy the CRB,so both of them are valid. While blind nodes increase,the CRB decreases,which means that the nodes localizations are more accurate.
