Traffic Volume Forecast for Xi’an Urban Rapid Rail Transit

Based on the planning of Xi’an urban rapid rail transit network, this paper puts forward the basic viewpoints for traffic volume forecast of urban rapid rail transit. Utilizing TransCAD, the“four-step”model of traffic plan softwares, this paper forecasts and compares the traffic volumes of three blueprints for Xi’an urban rapid rail transit network. According to the comparison of traffic volumes plan A is obtained from the optimized plan 1. That is to say, plan A is a success in terms of traffic volume.
