Design and testing of Erbium-doped fiber optic amplifier for HFC network

The operation mechanism and characteristics of Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier which applied in Hybrid Fiber Coax networks are introduced in this paper。The main reasons influencing its performance and the ways to solve this problem are discussed. Furthermore, the testing method and results of EDFA's performance are given out here.
