Morphology analysis between Furong crucian carp(Cyprinus capio furong.♀×Carassius auratusred var.♂) and the original brood stocks

This research investigated the morphological variations between Furong crucian carp(hybrid of Furong carp ♀ ×Red crucian carp♂) and the original brood stocks(Red crucian carp,Furong carp,Scattered mirror carp and Xingguo red carp) by measuring 7 meristic and 12 metric characters.Chi-square analysis of meristic characters indicated that there were no significant differences among these five kinds of experimental fishes.The meristic characters of Furong crucian carp were intermediate between Red crucian carp and Furong carp.Five metric characters of Furong crucian carp were biased to father,and 3 characters were biased to mother,4 characters were beyond parents.Furthermore,the results of cluster analysis of metric characters showed that there were some differences among these five fishes except between Furong carp and Xingguo red carp.Discriminant analysis indicated that there were significant differences among these five fishes.The identification accuracy was ranked as Furong crucian carp(100%)Red crucian carp(96%)Xingguo red carp(87%)Scatterd mirror carp(81.3%)Furong carp(73.1%).The results concluded that the morphology of Furong curcian carp was biased to father.
