A NONLINEAR PID CONTROLLER FOR TCSC

In this paper, a new kind of controller for thyristor controlled series compensation based on the theory of nonlinear PID control is presented. The controller does not depend on the model of power system. Using a local signal to realize its control, the structure of this controller is very simple. The results of computer simulation demonstrate that the controller not only can regulate immediately the impedance of the transmission line, increase the damp of the power system, improve the stability feature of the power system, but also possesses good adaptability and robustness.
