SIMULATION OF EXCITATION CURRENT OF TRANSFORMER USING ELECTRO-MAGNETIC TRANSIENT PROGRAM (EMTP)

A comparably complete simulation of the excitation current of transformers using Elecetro\|magnetic Transient Program(EMTP) is presented in this paper. The homologous equivalents of circuits in EMTP are also provided with the simulating results. The results show that EMTP has the excellent ability to simulate the different types of transformers by rearranging some simple components supplied by EMTP.
