STUDY ON THEORY OF INSTANTANEOUS POWER OF SINUSOIDAL CIRCUIT

The definition of instantaneous reactive power in sinusoidal circuit is still a pending problem and should be studied further. The authors consider that the theory of instantaneous power should be studied on the basis of the original definitions of instantaneous active and reactive power. In this paper some defect of the currently used definition of power is analyzed firstly. Then the definitions of the instantaneous active and reactive current, the instantaneous active and reactive power, the instantaneous apparent power, the average active and reactive power and the average apparent power of sinusoidal circuit in steady state are systematically given out. Those definitions are used in the analysis of operation characteristics of sinusoidal symmetrical three phase circuit.
