A SURVEY OF DISTRIBUTED GENERATION AND ITS APPLICATION IN POWER SYSTEM

Distributed generation (DG) possesses following advantages: saving investment, flexibility and compatibility. The joint operation of DG with power grid brings tremendous variation in control and operation for modern power system. DG can meet the special need of both power system and consumers such as peak clipping, on the other hand, it possesses incomparable reliability and economy which the traditional power systems can not provide. So, it is important and significant both in theory and practice to study DG. In this paper the new type of DG is described in brief and based on the relevant references the present situation of applying DG to power system is surveyed, finally, the trend of DG study is researched.
