ZHANG Yu-fang (National Grid Construction Co., Ltd,Haidian District,Beijing 100088,China)  
In recent years there were many flashovers between towers and conducting wires in domestic 500kV transmission lines caused by windage yaw. To analyze these phenomena the relevant departments of State Grid Corporation of China carried out the investigation and study under the supporting and coordination from different aspect. On the basis of on-site accident analysis by experts, the living examples of the flashover caused by windage yaw were recalculated and verified, the standard and method for windage yaw calculation were researched. The author introduced the contents of above-mentioned investigation and analysis which may be available for reference.
