Study on Impact of Distributed Generation on Distribution System Reliability

In this paper the impact of distributed generation (DG) on distribution network reliability is studied.Considering the uncertainty of original parameters in both components and loads of distribution system, the impact of parameter uncertainty of on distribution network reliability is analyzed by reliability evaluation algorithm based on the interval computation.In addition, by means of simplification and equivalence of distribution network the calculation speed is improved.Taking RBTS 6-bus distribution system for example, the interval indices for the evaluation of distribution network reliability are calculated with and without the integration of DG to distribution network.According to reliability indices, the impact of different interconnection position on distribution network reliability is studied, thus the effect of DG used as a kind of reserve power supply in improving distribution network reliability is verified.
