CIM/E Based Management of Model Change in Distribution Network

The modeling of distribution management system(DMS) is of such properties as strongly dependent on external systems, multi information sources, diversity in forms and needing process management, so the defects in the standards of information exchange, information integrity and poor information timeliness are brought about. For this reason, an efficient model specification language(CIM/E) based management of model change in distribution network is proposed. The features of CIM/E, which is taken as the data description language for the model and scheme, and the feasibility and superiority of utilizing CIM/E in the management of distribution network model are analyzed; the concrete applications of CIM/E in model import, model export, model extraction, equipment change analysis, incremental import and rollback and the version management technique are discussed; and a method to manage model change in distribution network that takes the change order as the minimal unit is proposed. Actual application cases of related software products are presented. Problems in the accuracy and effectiveness of distribution network information integration can be partially solved by CIM/E based management of equipment model in distribution network, and the requirement on the atomicity and integrity of model management can be met.
