STUDY ON ALGORITHM FOR SINGLE LINE TO GROUND FAULT LOCATION IN RADIAL DISTRIBUTION NETWORK BY VOLTAGE VERIFICAITON METHOD

In this paper a new algorithm for single line to ground fault location of radial distribution network is put forward. Using this algorithm the fault branch discrimination and fault location can be completed together. The diagnosis of faulty branch and position are carried out by applying a sinusoid diagnosis signal at the beginning of the line and detecting the voltage and current phasors at the beginning, then through the comparison between the calculated effective value of voltage at the end of the line, which corresponds to each fault, and the effective value of voltage detected at the end of the line to verify the diagnosed result is true or false. A lot of fault diagnosis simulation carried out on computer and model distribution network shows the method is effective.
