The large-scale power system in China is working up, and thenthe security and stability of power grid have become the principal issues that influencethe development of Chinesepower grid. As a breakthrough in modern power system, superconducting electrical power technology has significant effect on the technology improvementof power system. Superconducting magnetic energy storage can quickly respond to the power requirementsof power system, which will improve the security and stability of power grid. Presently, the 35kJ/7kW high temperatureSuperconducting magnetic energy storage which supported by the High Tech Research and Development 863 have accomplished assembly, this program promotes the development of applied superconducting in power system.
