The performance of the ITER helium leak tight composite axial insulation breaks was tested in details, and the structural and process design were introduced.Test results show that insulation breaks can ensure 50 times thermal cycles from 300K to 77K,DC voltage at 56kV,inner helium gas pressure in 4MPa,2000N in traction and compression, bending and torsion moments of 100Nm,which can be used to prove that the electrical insulation properties, mechanical properties, thermal shock resistance and air tightness of insulation breaks can all meet the technical requirements of ITER magnet system.
