Effects of Ryegrass Pellet Diet on Growth Performance, Slaughter Performance and Serum Biochemical Indexes of Yangzhou Geese

This experiment was conducted to study the effects of ryegrass pellet diet on growth performance, slaughter performance and serum biochemical indexes of Yangzhou geese. A total of 300 one-day-old Yangzhou geese were randomly divided into 5 groups with 3 replicates per group and 20 geese per replicate. Geese in the groups were fed the diets supplemented with 0( control group),2%( group Ⅰ),4%( group Ⅱ),6%( group Ⅲ) and 8%( group Ⅳ) ryegrass,respectively. The experiment lasted for 21 days. The results showed as follow: 1) at 7 days of age,the average daily feed intake( ADFI) in groups Ⅱ and Ⅳ was significantly lower than that in control group( P 0.05),the average daily gain in group Ⅰ was significantly higher than that in control group( P0.05); at 14 days of age,the ADFI in group Ⅱ was significantly lower than that in control group( P0.05),the ratio of feed to gain in groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ was significantly lower than that in control group( P0.05); at 21 days of age,the ADFI in group Ⅳ was significantly higher than that in control group( P0.05). 2) The carcass weight,semi-eviscerated weight,eviscerated weight and leg muscle weight in groups Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ were higher than those in control group( P 0. 05),there was no significant difference on stomachic pH among all groups( P0.05). 3) There was no significant difference on the activities of glutamic oxalocetie transaminase and alkaline phosphatase in serum among all groups( P0.05); the serum total protein content in groups Ⅰ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ was significantly higher than that in control group( P 0.05); the serum glucose content in groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ was significantly lower than that in control group( P 0.05); the serum glutamic-pyruvic transaminase activity in groups Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅳ was significantly lower than that in control group( P 0. 05). In conclusion,ryegrass pellet diet can improve the growth performance, slaughter performance and serum biochemical indexes of Yangzhou geese,and the optimal supplemental level of ryegrass is 6%.
