Landslide and Debris Flow Risk Assessment Based on GIS and Its Application

In this paper, based on the consideration of data and methods required by landslide and debris flow risk assessment, the feasibility and odds of GIS were described and methods for assessing landslide and debris l ow risk using GIS were reviewed, include their advantage and disadvantage and their application. These methods include expert evaluation, Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP), Artificial Neural Net(ANN), geo-statistics, weighted distance discriminate analysis and remote sensing interpretation etc. Finally, the trend of landslide and debris l ow risk assessment using GIS was discussed in the paper.
