PURIFICATIONS OF CARBON NANOTUBES

Several purification techniques for both multi\| (MWNTs) and single\|wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are introduced in details.These techniques are classified into two parts: chemical methods and physical methods.Although the purified nanotubes is always partly destructed by chemical methods,it is no doubt that chemical methods are more efficient to purify crude nanotubes sample than physical methods.This paper points out that a combination of chemical methods and physical methods should be used in order to get high purified and low destructive carbon nanotubes.In the end,the authors also describe the latest research horizon on the purification of carbon nanotubes in China and other countries.
