The assessment model of groundwater resources can simulate the characteristic of the change of groundwater in space and time. GIS is a powerful tool for spatial data treatment and visualization. The integration of groundwater model with GIS can help enhance its application. The developing process of the integration of GIS with groundwater resources assessment is analyzed in this article. Considering the limitation of traditional integration methods, the framework of integration of GIS with groundwater resources assessment was designed based on the C/S structure. Detailed steps for the groundwater resources assessment are introduced. The framework has been applied to the water resources management in Harbin, in which work efficiency has greatly improved.
