High pressure-temperature experiment and in-situ measurement technology

Wang Huiyuan, Zheng Haifei Key Laboratory of Orogenic Belts and Crustal Evolution, Ministry of Education; School of Earth and Space Science, Peking University, Beijng 100871, China  
Recent progress in both high pressure-temperature experimental techniques and in-situ measurement techniques under high pressure-temperature were discussed. In this paper, we focused on the following aspects: (1) The characteristics of both static and dynamic high pressure techniques, i.e. diamond anvil cell, large volume press, and autoclave; (2) Spectroscopy used in high pressure techniques for in-situ measurement, including Raman, Infrared, X-ray diffraction and synchrotron radiation; (3) Experimental methods for determining elastic wave velocity under high pressure-temperature, i.e. ultrasonic method, Brillouin Scattering, Nuclear Resonant Inelastic X-Ray Scattering; (4) The recent development of in-situ measurement of electrical conductivity under high pressure-temperature in diamond anvil cell and large volume press.
