Application of an Improved Tectonic Line Curvature Method to Research of Structural Fracture:A Case Study on Aran Anticline in Kashan Block in Iran

Aran anticline is the main exploration target in the Kashan Block in Iran.The C4 sub-member of the Qom formation has already been proved a set of typical fractured reservoir by previous exploration activities.In this paper,based on fine structure interpretation on 3D seismic data covering Aran anticline,using an improved tectonic line curvature with five-point twice fitting,we conducted curvature calculation of 276 profiles covering this structure,and then mapped the maximum curvature distribution diagram of the top of the C4 sub-member.In the combination of the fault system distribution,our research indicates that the structural fractures mainly developed along the long axis,in the high part and NW plunging of this fold.In term of the curvature value,we mapped 3 fracture zones on this anticline and conducted evaluation on them,revealing the development and distribution law of fractures within this fold.These understandings are beneficial for further exploration for this structure.
