A GENERAL FORMULA OF DOPPLER SHIFT

Zhong Xihua(Department of Physics, Peking University,Beuing,100871,China)  
Based on the relativistic effect of the space-time transformation and the velocitv addi-tion,a general formula of the Doppler shift is given,which is appropriate for all waves such as soundwave and light wave,After the discussion of the typical conditions,it is pointed out that the Dopplershift of light wave in medium is related not only to the relative velocity between the light source andthe receiver but also to the velocities of the wave and the source relative to the medium frame.
