Research and development on the fabrication process of metal matrix composites

The research history of metal matrix composites is summarized in the paper,conventional metal matrix and types of reinforcement of metal matrix composites are introduced and especially their fabrication methods,such as stir casting、powder metallurgy and in-situ synthesis are reviewed.In addition,the wettability、interfacial chemistry、mechanical properties of metal matrix composites and finite element analysis about metal matrix composites are simply studied.At last,the development trend about shaping of metal matrix composites by semi-solid forming techniques is presented.

The paper describes a sort of high performance polyurethane-polyethylene glycol terephthalate(PET) fiber fabric-aluminium foil composite liner to be used as airtight joint structure of the gas pipeline. It introduces the gas pipeline modification technology developped by Chevalier-PRS(Asia)Holdings Ltd. of Hongkong and test on the air-tightness, air pressure resistance, bending and peel strength,accelerated aging of the gas pipeline airtight joint structure.
