Numerical simulation and experimental investigation on one-path deep drawing spinning of conical part

The process of one-path deep drawing spinning for the conical part was simulated by the finite element software,MSC.MARC,and the stress-strain distribution was studied.The influences of feed rate of the roller and the ratio of thickness to diameter of the blank on the forming quality were mainly investigated.The causes of the forming defects,such as wrinkling,thinning and springback,and the defect position were analyzed.Both the simulation and experiment results show that wrinkling and thinning occur easily in the mouth region(the blank flange during the forming process) and the lower region of wall near the fillet of the conical part,which is similar to the general deep drawing of conical part and should be paid close attention to.
