Hydrogen production from steam reforming of ethanol using Ni/CeO_2 and Ni-Cu/CeO_2 catalysts

Ni/CeO2 and Ni-Cu/CeO2 catalysts were prepared by co-precipitation-agglomeration and melten salts methods. XRD, SEM, TEM and BET were used to test the structure properties of catalysts, and catalytic properties were tested through a fix-bed reactor under atmospheric pressure. All three kinds of catalysts exhibited high hydrogen selectivity to ethanol steam reforming reaction. The Ni/CeO2 catalyst prepared by melten salts method showed prominent activity, with the hydrogen selectivity of 70.9% at 450 ℃.The stability of catalysts was good.
