Spreading Method for Box Rib Sheet Metal Parts based on Dummy Elements

Against some problems in the spreading of sheet metal parts with buckles or indentation feature,on the basis of the spreading radial approach which is based on geometric mapping method,the reasonable blank profile of this kind of workpiece has been gained by using the previous intercepted element vector method including adding to dummy element. Through practical application,the approach is approved to be efficient and the obtained blank shape is more reasonable. A good initial value is presented for the further optimization.
