The extract liquid which was composed of Yejuhua(Flos chrysanthemi),Chuanxinlian(Herb Andrographitis),Chaihu(Radix bupleuri) and the other Chinese herb medicines was applied continually to the 20-day-old specific pathogen free(SPF) chickens by oral drop. After five days of oral administration, the SPF chickens challenged with Mycoplasma galliseplicum(MG),Newcastle disease virus(NDV),Infectious bronchitis virus(IBV) and Avian influenza virus(AIV H9N2),respectively,were monitored every day to determine the clinical signs, morbidity, lesion change and the virus isolation. The results demonstrated 12.5%,0%,10% of SPF chickens were suffered from challenging of vivid NDV,AIV and IBV in the medium dosage of 75 mg per chicken.Similarly,50%,10%,10% of challenged chickens were unable to get protection in the lower dosage of 37.5 mg per chickens. The pathological index of infected chickens were 3.5 in medium dosage group and 5.5 in lower dosage group post inoculating with vivid MG.The above evidence showed that the extract herb medicine could be used to control the chicken respiratory disease.
