Advance in Effects of NGF on Neurons

ZHANG Hai-ming,ZHANG Ying(College of Animal Science and Technology,Shanxi Agricultural University,Taigu,Shanxi,030801,China)
The nerve growth factor(NGF) is a kind of nerve nourishment factor discovered at the earliest.NGF plays an important dajusting role in neuron survival, growth, differentiation rebirth and function maintaining. The histocytic culture in vitro in early days confirmed that NGF had nourishment effects on sympathetic, sensory and central cholinergic neurons, sustained neuron survival and induced neuron protuberance to rise.Since 80's of last century, along with the technical development of model system concerning nerval injury and rebirth in vivo, the studies of NGF effects on the neuron rebirth and function recovery were more intensiv. The range of NGF effector neuron extended. The results will provide the effective measures for the treatment of nervous system diseases.
