Progress on Quantification Methods of Bovine Rumen Microbes

The quantification of rumen microorganisms has been one of the difficulties of ruminant nutrition.The traditional methods comprise the classical roll-tube technique and maximum possible count technique.The appearance and development of molecular quantitative methods have provided a new idea and methods for quantifying rumen microorganisms.Such as: accounting hybridization,DGGE or TGFE,real-time PCR.With the constantly developing and improving,molecular quantitative methods will be in-depth to further study.The author reviewed the quantification methods of rumen microbes briefly for providing a reference for the research of rumen microorganisms.
