The Construction and Abolition of the Kaifeng Rampart Since the Founding of the People's Republic of China:Urban Development and Cognitive Change of Cultural Heritage

Since the founding of the People 's Republic of China, Kaifeng has changed from a traditional consuming city to a modern manufacturing city, and then has turned to an international cultural tourism city. The cognition of the ancient rampart is advanced in material practicability, historical relics science, cultural symbol and so on. Therefore, as a cultural heritage,the Kaifeng rampart has experienced a contradictory solution process from demolition and preservation, destruction and retention,repair and construction, and preservation and use. Under the influence of social environment such as politics, economy and culture, Kaifeng rampart is closely linked and interacted with urban development and social and cultural cognition. Behind it is the individual or group's value congnition of cultural heritage and urban development concept, and it is the historical and rational presentation of the relationship among people, city and rampart.
