The Research and Practice of Digital Watershed

With the digital earth notion coming into being and the development of the technology system, construction of digital watershed has more technic support. Digital watershed is a virtual watershed which can visualize real watershed status in multi_dimension by computer_based geographic spatial data. And it is an important part of digital earth. In the paper, the concept of watershed was expatiated firstly. Then, the frame, the key technics such as change inspecting and data getting, network, database and huge memory, watershed simulation, visualization and virtual reality, and the application of digital watershed were discussed and analyzed.
