Synthesis of Nanocrystalline Materials by Soft Chemistry Method

QI Xi-wei, Zhou Ji (Department of Materials Science and Engineering, State Key Laboratory of New Ceramic and Fine Processing, Tsinghua University, Beijing 100084)  
A variety of methods for preparing nanocrystalline materials is discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of different methods are reviewed. The process principles, features and some examples, including precipitation, hydrotherm, sol-gel, low-temperature combustion synthesis and sol-gel auto-combustion methods, are presented.
