Measurement system of PM optical fibre polarization characteristics

Ma Yingjian Feng Lishuang Nan Shuzhi Han Xiaojuan (Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing 100083)  
Based on the method of digital signal processing,the design of measuring system of PM optical fibre polarization characteristics is put forward. The test result indicates that the optical power between 0.2nW and 1mW can be detected. The measurement error is better than ±0.1dB as the extinction ratio of measured polarization state is below 40dB. This design reaches a fine repeatability and high stability.
