Algorithm study on fast north-seeking of gyro-theodolite

In order to improve the precision and shorten north-seeking process of gyro-theodolite,a fast algorithm system based on PC is posed.Using the advantage of Visual C++ 6.0 easy accessing database on PC,a new north-seeking algorithm-Database Query is developed.Experiments show the algorithm is simple,result is reliable.However the algorithm has the same north-seeking time with one-fourth period integral method,the precision is up from 25″to 8″; it has the same precision with transit、whole period integral method,time shortens from 8 to 3 minutes,and more obvious advantages than traditional methods.The system also integrates transit,integral and less cycle method,provides options of different precision and speed,meets the needs of different occasions.
