The rare-earth elements (REE) have been applied to agriculture and industry for a long time. It has been realized that the REEs play an important role in agricultural production increase. The REEs have been found wide applications in agriculture. More concern is shown with the impact of REE on the environment. The aim of this paper is to analyze and discuss the potential environment impact of REE on agricultural products and arable soils, in terms of REE concentrations, toxicities, radiation levels, and remnant contents. The research results showed that the current application of the REE-added fertilizers is safe to human health, and has no potential environmental impact on the environment, water quality and agro-ecological environment.
